Environmental Pollution

One of the greatest threats of the world today is environmental pollution. It is not less dangerous than war. All living beings, birds, animals, insects, plants and even human beings are victims of pollution. Therefore pollution is the most talked about issue. It is very harmful to all the living beings and it are destroying our Nature.
Pollution causes various kinds of harms. Polluted air, that is, poisonous air makes breathing difficult, if we breathe polluted air then it harms our lungs and it may cause lung diseases. Similarly when we drink polluted water we become ill with diarrhea, dysentery, jaundice, etc. Loud sound harms the ear. We can become deaf. But the greatest harm is the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere. It is due to chlorofluorocarbon released into the atmosphere by factories. The ozone layer is very important because it stops harmful ultra violet rays of the sun entering the earth.
Population increase and industrialization is the main reason of pollution. We should not throw garbage anywhere & we shouldn’t cut down trees because tree gives us oxygen and it also makes our environment fresh. We should plant more trees to make our society fresh, neat and clean. If we cut down trees then we should plant another tree in the place of that tree. It is called Reforestation.
Many factories have been established to produce goods. These factories and vehicles like bus, car, truck etc. produce huge quantities of smoke into the atmosphere. The smoke has harmful and dangerous gases which mix with air that we breathe.
Because of tremendous growth in population, trees in the forest have been cut down and are being cut down for settlement, farming, and timber. As a result deforestation has occurred.  The consequences of deforestations are less rainfall, increase in temperature, flood and landslide. Wild animals are being killed. So the ecological balance of nature is disturbed. When the wild animals and birds are killed indiscriminately other living beings are badly effected.
Another danger due to pollution is global warming. The earth is getting warmer. The temperature of the earth is rising. It is feared that the icecaps in the poles will melt and the sea level will rise. So the coastal region may be submerged.
It is the duty of human beings to preserve nature and make earth a better place. We all should preserve nature.
