The level of learning online in undergraduate and graduate programs differs from class to class. In many courses students will be working independently on a classwork project. In these classes students will not be the classroom teacher but will be provided with a self-paced tutor online.

In most of the online graduate programs each module is taught with a different instructor. Students are also not in the classroom so they will not have a teacher to provide feedback on their work. In an online graduate program students will not be in class but they will still need to submit their assignments for grading.

This is not a barrier to learning because students receive feedback online. However, if a student does not have good computer skills they may have problems completing assignments or saving the assignment. Also, it is up to the instructor to assess student’s performance.
